Pickline (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Pickline mobile application and the website at pickline.app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address to authenticate you via a one-time passcode (OTP). We do not collect passwords.

Profile information

You may optionally provide a display name. No other personal information is required.

Usage data

We collect data about how you interact with the app — pools joined, predictions made, leaderboard positions — to provide the core service.

Device & log data

When you use the app, our servers automatically record standard log information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URL. This data is used for security, debugging, and service improvement.

2. How we use your information

  • Authenticate your account and send one-time passcodes
  • Operate pools, predictions, and leaderboards
  • Communicate service-related notices (e.g., pool invitations)
  • Detect fraud, abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service
  • Improve and maintain the app

3. Information sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

  • With other pool members: your display name, predictions (after lock), and leaderboard position are visible to other members of pools you join.
  • Service providers: we use third-party services for email delivery (cPanel SMTP), hosting (Oracle Cloud), and may use payment processing (Stripe) in the future. These providers access data only to perform services on our behalf.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request.

4. Data retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see section 7). Usage data such as predictions and leaderboard history is retained for the duration of the associated pool.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed OTP codes, rate-limited authentication endpoints, and restricted database access.

6. Children’s privacy

Pickline is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Your rights

You may:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information in your profile
  • Delete your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date above.
